Music for All is happy to express its appreciation to Alex Knight, a 9 student at Immanuel College in South Australia. We thank Alex, along with his music colleagues Mitchell Munt and James Choi for their outstanding effort in raising $809 through their Music for Many project. The lads chose Music for All as their preferred charity and their project raised the funds through the creation, production, distribution and sale of a five-track album, the proceeds of which were donated to Music for All.
Music for All, is a registered charity which makes grants to further the music making aspirations of many Australians, particularly those who face challenges in meeting those aspirations. Grant recipients include community music organisations, schools and individuals who demonstrate need and a commitment to furthering opportunities for people to make music.
We applaud the initiative taken and creativity displayed by Alex, Mitchell and James, particularly their desire to help others make music. Alex’s father, Sean, said “We appreciate everything you do. Music is very important to us and we are luckily in a fortunate position where Alex can strive with his passions in electronic dance music on his laptop and rock music with his electric guitar”.
Alex said on behalf of his mates, James, and Mitchell, “We are the group members behind the Music for Many project. To support Music for All, we created a short collection of songs, also known as an EP. We then released this short collection of songs online or offered the option of CDs if requested. We then took the proceeds and donated them to Music for All. We did this because we believe that everybody deserves equal opportunities and access to music. We also hold a strong belief that music is one of the greatest medicines.”
The guys raised $809 with 25 digital downloads and 10 CDs sold!
